Explorer Home Kit

Start here with Explorer

Use the physical kit first. This page is only your digital backup for reprints, quickstarts, and extra journal pages. If you are ready to begin, start with Session 1.

Do this first

  1. Open the Grown-Up Guide. It is the short control sheet for the kit.
  2. Keep the Quest Journal pages in one folder pocket and the badge sheet with the activity pages.
  3. Pull out Session 1 only: Quest Journal, folded Sorting Mat, badge sheet, 12-20 cards, and a pencil or crayons.
  4. Use the journal prompts. Stop after the reflection and matching session badge.
  5. Use the extra stickers only as optional moment stickers when you notice effort, curiosity, helpfulness, patience, or kind play.
  6. Put the opened cards back in the storage envelope or pouch.

What success looks like

Short sessions 20-30 minutes is enough. Stop while energy is still good.
Light gameplay handoff Explorer is not a full learn-to-play box. Use microplay and quickstarts to keep the next step easy.
Visible progress Save the full-letter journal, art, challenge cards, and landscape certificate so the Explorer can see what they completed.

Right-size help

Quest too tricky? Use fewer cards, let the Explorer draw or point, and ask one visible-feature question at a time.
Quest too easy? Add another sorting rule, a complete sentence, a mystery sort, or a longer story on an extra page.
Need a reset? Take a short break, swap to a new pile of cards, or move to a different room. Sessions work best when nobody feels stuck.
