Grades 3-5 Classroom

Start here with Strategy Scholars

Use this page as the teacher launch sheet for the five-session grades 3-5 classroom kit. One classroom kit is designed for up to 25 learners, with a default classroom build of 5 teams of up to 5. The day plans and core printables arrive printed in your kit; this page tells you what is in your kit, how to set it up, and how to run the analysis-and-design sequence in order.

Unlock your kit Your kit includes a Start Here card with an access code. Unlock once at cardstem.academy/family-access and every link on this page opens.

Run the week

Run one day at a time. Each day's printables are linked in its row: open to preview or reprint a replacement. Put finished journals, labs, and artifacts in a class folder so Day 5 is easy to stage.

DayThat day's materials
1. Deck Analysis and Data CollectionDay 1 plan · Card Anatomy Reference · Deck Inventory Sheet · 3-5 Bar Graph Grid · analysis card tubs
2. Ratios, Fractions, and Deck CompositionDay 2 plan · Deck Ratio Lab · analysis tubs, calculators or counters
3. Probability and PredictionsDay 3 plan · Draw Probability Lab · 3-5 Bar Graph Grid · playtesting tubs
4. Challenge Design and Game BalanceDay 4 plan · Challenge Designer · Team Crest Canvas · Peer Feedback Form · Compliment Tokens
5. Challenge Rounds, Data Analysis, and CelebrationDay 5 plan · Mini-Tournament Bracket · Strategy Certificate · Badge Sheet · saved labs and journals

Each learner keeps one Reflection Journal across all five days — set it up on Day 1 and add to it daily, then file it for the Day 5 showcase.

Facilitator references used across the week (all bound into the Facilitator Book): 3-5 Teacher Run Guide, District Evidence Appendix, 3-5 Quick Check (optional pre/post), and the Gameplay Next Steps guide.

Do this first

  1. Open your coil-bound facilitator book and skim the overview, sequence, materials list, and success signals.
  2. The 3-5 Teacher Run Guide and the District Evidence Appendix are bound into the front of the book. Keep it at the teacher table.
  3. Reach for the Teacher Run Guide first when preparing a teacher-facing classroom run; pull the District Evidence Appendix for a principal, curriculum manager, grant, or program review.
  4. See the kit contents list below for the full 25-learner classroom quantities.
  5. Before Day 1, open all 25 booster packs, combine the cards, and sort them into 5 shared table pools (~40-60 cards each) plus a small spare pool.
  6. Run one day at a time using the table above. Put finished journals, labs, and artifacts in a class folder so the Day 5 challenge rounds and celebration are easy to stage.
  7. Need more copies? Reprint any page from the kit index linked in the hero above.
School format note: use shared, teacher-managed card tubs and classroom copies. Do not prepare one sealed pack per learner.

What success looks like

Controlled material flow Teams work from teacher-managed pools, and completed labs and journals go back into one folder or bin.
Observable analysis language Listen for ratio, fraction, probability, likely, sample, balance, trade-off, evidence, and explain.
Evidence saved daily Keep one lab or journal artifact from each day so Day 5 is easy to stage.

Print-ready class sets

Collated, press-ready PDFs sized for one 25-learner classroom, the same files we send to the print vendor. Reprint any single piece from the kit index.
